Release Notes for the Logbook App for Android

Since the Play Store only allows 500 characters to list all the new features in an update, the text is often not enough for me. That’s why I’m providing a complete list of the new features here if they didn’t all fit in the Play Store.

V1.29 (100) 2026-07-01

The PDF now shows the day’s minimum and maximum battery voltage instead of a single value.
Tab 2: OpenStreetMap is used when Google Play Services are unavailable.
The last line of the PDF can now combine coordinates and location text on one line when two lines are present.
All drop-down menus in the user interface have been improved to use available space more efficiently.

V1.29 (99) 2026-06-26

With this update, I’d like to share a few personal thoughts ;-) I’m changing my payment model for NEW users from a one-time payment to an affordable annual subscription model. New users will have plenty of time to test all features without restrictions before they have to pay. For EXISTING CUSTOMERS who have purchased the app at some point, nothing will change, and subscribing is optional to support the app’s continued development. I hope that many existing users will also choose to support the app voluntarily so that future features aren’t limited to new subscribers.
With that in mind, thank you very much in advance!

Fixed three potential causes of crashes (when opening the app, on the map, and when editing the location text)
The weather cache is reset when switching providers
In PDF export, entries with unknown TWD/TWA/COG/SOG/air pressure/precipitation values now show 0 instead of ---
For entries after a course change, a value of 25 or higher must be selected; otherwise, this leads to many unexplained entries
Map markers are hidden when zooming out further
You can now choose the colors yourself when coloring the track in different modes on the map (and in the PDF)
Unused space in the header and on full-screen maps in A4 PDF format is now utilized

Fueling transactions can now be recorded in the log. Fueling statistics based on this data will be available in a future update.

Added haptic feedback and a more noticeable animation when starting or stopping automatic recording.
Completely redesigned the process for deleting a section in the Tools menu.
NMEA values for COG/SOG in RMC, Pitch and Roll, as well as TWA/TWS/TWD in MWV, MWD, MDA and VHW, are now smoothed.
Fixed potential crashes when importing invalid GPX files; the location of the error in the GPX file is now displayed.
Fixed a potential cause of crashes in the settings during synchronization.

Changes to a maintenance entry’s due date were only saved if you tapped one of the radio buttons at least once.
In the NMEA VHW display, the COG and SOG values were swapped.
The Maintenance Detail view now also shows the logbook and vessel names.
Time zones were not correctly handled when creating AI texts or when filtering the export by time.
Duplicate entries with the same time are now sorted uniquely.

We have further improved the maintenance log: the CSV export is now better, and you can edit notes and due dates directly in the list.
We also fixed a problem that could shift an entry by one day when changing the time zone to UTC or removing the time zone information.
