Planned features for iOS
These functions are on the list for the Logbook app. The order is not a roadmap with fixed dates — it shows what is being considered and worked on.

Improve the view of a single log entry:
The statistics are outdated and need to be revised. In the process, the following new functions should be added:
This feature lets you list the sails on your boat so each log entry can show exact setup details.
Create a graphical polar chart for the sailboat based on the data in the log entries. In other words, at what TWA does the boat sail at what STW? Many sailboats come with a chart from the manufacturer, but the logbook shows what really happened.
The complication updates every 15 minutes because Apple limits updates to 100 times per 24 hours. If you are underway for only 8 hours a day, the complication can update roughly every 5 minutes.
Introduce crew management
Improvements to the existing PDF export
Every entry with a position and time can also show the azimuth and altitude of the sun.
The due date for maintenance entries is currently based only on time.
In addition to the packing list, other curated and editable lists for:
Daily summary as a separate log entry. This entry has no time stamp, there is only one per day, and it holds the following:
It creates a separate PDF for exporting a single page to prove nautical miles. You can also choose the date range.
Automatic log entry for jibes and tacks
In general, record costs for various categories in the entry:
SignalK support.
Improve handling on the chart
In addition to water depth:
Some users need to change the logbook regularly (daily). It should be easy to see which one is selected and easy to change it without entering the settings.
Improvements for motorboats
Additional PDF formats for export:
The track between two waypoints should show more detail when auto-recording, just like a GPX track.
Let users select the exact cloud type.
Using the radio
We need better support for electric yachts.
A helpful tool for flags
An easy-to-read dashboard with large numbers, similar to a chartplotter display, showing key readings such as SOG, COG, TWS, TWD, AWD, and AWD. The aim is to let you check the current values below deck when needed.
You can set multiple auto-recording intervals
Since there is enough space on the iPad, show the map in the bottom-right area of the Detail-UISplitViewController.
Redesign consumer batteries
This feature lets you or your crew sign safety briefings in the logbook using an Apple Pencil or your finger.
The entry view needs updating. It no longer fits the overall look introduced in iOS 26. In addition:
While the app records automatically in the background, it should recognize a shake gesture and trigger a pre-set action. For example:
You should also be able to change weather values for several entries at once, just like you can with an entry’s status
Additional markings on the map
Additional metadata in the logbook. At the moment, details such as vessel name, draft, build year, sail area, LOA, beam, engine, MMSI, call sign, home port, displacement, etc. are not in separate fields. Please show these as individual fields that users can fill in and reuse.
Evaluate AIS data via NMEA
New mode (currently there are already engine, moored, buoy, sail, anchor, etc.):
If you share a track with someone, the app should also display it. This would let two or more boats traveling together (at least to the same overnight anchorage) see each other’s position on the map and estimated time of arrival.
Average consumption (calculated from your log) for fuel, electricity, and water helps you estimate how long your supplies will last.
Record humidity and automatically fill in data from the Internet if your weather provider supplies it.
Add an option to choose a Quick Manoeuvre after editing the note
Add an export option to create a CG-719S form for the U.S. Coast Guard when applying for a license
Option to reset all settings in the app to factory defaults.
Optionally, always measure heel automatically when the phone or tablet is lying on the navigation table, for example.
For example, a restaurant on land. Show it on the map as a POI, but do not include it in the route—ignore both the on-screen track and the distance calculation.
A tool that lets you quickly measure distances on the map.
