You install the beta version of the Logbook app directly through the Google Play Store beta programme:
- Open the Logbook app’s Google Play page.
- Under “Join the beta”, tap Join and confirm with Join.
Once you’ve signed up, after a short while you can update the app to the current beta through the usual update mechanism.
What you should know about the Logbook app beta

Leaving the beta programme
To leave the beta programme, open the Logbook app’s Google Play page and tap “Leave” below the beta information.
The Play Store doesn’t downgrade: a version with a lower versionCode is never installed over a higher one. That’s why the beta stays on your device for now, even after you’ve left the test programme.
What actually happens when you leave:
The beta keeps working until the production version overtakes the beta’s version number. At that point the Play Store simply offers an update that replaces the beta — your data is kept. This is the only clean way that preserves your data. Depending on the app, it takes anything from a few days to a few weeks. It can also take a few hours before Google registers that you’ve left.
